I want you to take something as fact before reading this essay.

We live in a crazy society. We are the most bizarre aberration of nature that walks the planet.

I’ve mentioned before that I like to go into the public and observe society during the holidays. Holidays are special because for a sociologist or people watcher, it’s not unlike a feeding frenzy. The human condition is so pervasive and readily available to observe that you don’t have to go far to get a lot of data.

Valentine’s day is now one of those. I found myself at the Grove Shopping center in the middle of the day. The parking structure can hold 4500 cars. At the entrance there is a digital readout of how open spots there are on each floor. Going into the garage the sign read FULL on every level. Despite this, cars were pulling in by the dozens. Once inside the labyrinth of the lot, there you have to circle at least one level before you can get out.

Swept into this, I found that every floor of the lot had at least 50 cars competing for spots. Let’s look deeper though… what were these people doing? They were spending their beautiful Sunday afternoon competing for spots so they could go shopping. Shopping for Valentines day or night. Pink everything was being moved around the mall. People in festive valentines PJs walking around in public, but that’s okay since it’s all in the spirit of the day of love right?

Guys with Victoria’s Secret bags in hand because to be considered a “good guy” or a “good boyfriend” you have to participate and make Valentines day special. So you buy flowers, chocolate, lingerie, so make reservations for dinner somewhere. The point is you have to participate, and consume. The average person thinks you are strange if you don’t celebrate or at least buy a card… or even SAY “Happy Valentines Day” to your loved one. All this in the middle of a major economic recession. (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2010/02/13/BUUV1BUI19.DTL)

Let’s retrace our steps: Holidays… Crazy Parking Lots… Mass Shopping… Participating to be “Normal.”

How does this axis form?

TV.

Nobody wonders about our bizarre behavior because the images reinforcing that this is normal are flashed in front of your eyes at 30 frame per second. But to make it entertaining, TV does something reality doesn’t do… it uses different cameras to place you inside the story from different viewpoints. You never get to experience reality in this mode. In reality, you are fixed in the position of one camera. But during an average TV show you are flashed 350 different cuts (camera perspectives).

This number is not fiction. I watched a sitcom and counted the number of edits, and cuts. So in 22 minutes, you are shown 350 edits and different camera perspectives.

I propose that for an organic being, born and designed to have only one viewpoint, this is going to have negative neurologic effects.

The problem with my last statement is that it is subjective. The word negative is the issue. You see, if you remove the word negative from the sentence, it describes the mission statement of every good filmmaker or TV show producer. They are trying to create a neurologic effect that keeps your interest. So to do that they create imagery, camera angles and viewpoints that lure you in and keep your interest.

At first glance this seems benign enough. But on further analysis, you see the side-effect of this process reveal it’s ugly head. If your interest is peaked during a process, e.g. rapid camera cuts, you’re subconsciously allowing for the feeling of interest to be experienced while your eyes are watching a certain image.

The effect of this method of imagery is more deleterious than the kind that Plato warned his people of.

TV creates subconscious ideas about what is normal. The more you see rapid imagery, the more you passively feel pleasure from what’s being shown to you. And what feels good, is what we all desire. So we begin to emulate that imagery. We begin to dress like it, talk like it, and live like it.

While we live in those characters, the same feelings of pleasure are reinforced because the drug that feeds this desire in now around us. “Reality” is created in TV, and TV then is manifested by reality… A true Ouroboros.

The irony of the story. All the people in the malls today, were only soothing the pains of their addiction to this artificial reality by buying things to become the characters they watch on TV Shows, which keeps them working (so they can make money to buy these things), which in turn can be translated as them being slaves to the illusions they choose to believe.

Self inflicted slavery.

A tough verdict to swallow, but look around.

The reason I started this essay with the request that you accept the fact that we live in a crazy society was this very point, that we choose to live in a world of self inflicted slavery.

In this new era, there is no need for whips to make people work. As long as you constantly want, you will constantly work. The system we set up was rigged this way. In our world we have we work to make money, so we can live a life that stands up to the status definitions we are feeding ourselves through our televisions.

One can argue that this is been the process since beginning? Everyone wanted to live like the wealthy or successful, or “beautiful” people of the society in question. But there are key differences.

In the older version of this process, your the access to this kind of visual information was not as prevalent and it didn’t change as often. Think of how fast you can change styles or trends by just creating a new look for a character on a show or commercial. Where as in cultural groups there have always been the “trend-setters” of the herd, access to these people and their message was not as readily available and rapidly changing as it is in the world of television.

So now fashion changes every couple of months. What’s cool is a fleeting idea that can never be captured for any worthwhile amount of time. To get proof of this point requires something as simple of monitoring the inventory changes at your local Banana Republic. Every 3 weeks merchandise is pushed back ⅓ of the store until it hits the sale section in the back. That is because every 3 weeks, something new is introduced. I often wondered how many variations of a basic poplin shirt a company can make.

During the entire time I have been awake, and watching, I have counted 14.

TV keeps your brain in a constant cluster fuck. Not knowing which way is coming, and which way is going you succumb and find yourself spending an hour of your life waiting in a parking lot so you can spend your money on another unnecessary item for an already comfortable American (I am referring to the fact that every American lives many levels above their counterparts in the rest of the world ).

TV teaches you about society. What to wear. How to be. What to drive. What to eat.

TV teaches you who to be.

Now there’s a channel for every “person”, so that they don’t send conflicting messages on one channel. Every viewer can find their comfort spot or characters and only watch shows like in that zone. Now advertisers can market to a specific audience, making an already powerful weapon even more powerful.

Before I close this essay, I’d like to put a challenge in front of you.

Unplug your TV for 1 year.

You really don’t have a valid argument against me if you haven’t done this yet. I haven’t had a TV for many years now… and what I mean by that is that there is no TV in my house at all.

Think about this statistic: According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day. That adds up to 28 hours a week. That means that you spend 1 entire day of your week behind a television set. That adds up to over 2 MONTHS out of 1 year behind a TV (4 hours x 365 days = 1460 hours/year; 1460 hours/year divided by 24 hours = 60.83 days per year!)

If you assume the average person lives 80 years, that comes out to 11.6 years behind a TV if they started watching TV at the age of 10. That’s 15% of your life. And now that screens are every where (literally in the palm of your hands) that number will increase.

Unless you can literally not turn it on, you won’t see the changes.

If there are those of you out there that are really, and I mean really interested in and bothered by what is happening with our world and our society, all you have to do is unplug your TV.

You will notice changes in your life after a short time. The world will seem different to you, and

People will seem different to you, and you will see reality reality, not the one that has been implanted into our subconscious minds.

Every year the reality show we call reality gets more and more bizarre. These changes are happening exponentially in this era. Indeed we live in the era of the exponent. Every is faster, and our technology progresses, we will be able to make things even faster, in essence accelerating the rate of the bizarre-volution.

Having read this, you are now faced with a choice:

Are you going to be a character or an observer?

Video: Me

Song: Silent Spring, Massive Attack

Have you wondered why we haven’t given any thought to what happens to us if our planet get’s damaged?

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that we don’t push for a society that creates swarms of scientists dedicated to one job… monitoring and understanding our planet to make sure our species can continue living on it.

Considering that we are pumping chemicals, waste materials, and by-products of human life into our world that would never have been here naturally, I ask for a new urgency to make this change. The entire purpose of human life needs to change.

It starts with your decisions. Whether you choose education over entertainment. Whether you choose consideration over consumerism. It all starts with our individual actions.

The video you just watched was taken by NASA’s GEOS-5 atmospheric analysis satellite at a 7-kilometer resolution with the general circulation model. This is ACTUAL footage of the Earth from space. Real pictures… put together to make a video.

The GEOS-5 atmospheric model was developed by NASA Goddard’s scientists. It’s based on the Earth System Modeling Framework, an open source project “for building climate, numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, and other Earth science software applications.”

When you loop together the raw data and make a video, and speed it up a little you realize something magnificient is going on. The planet is breathing.

What I mean by that is if you look over all the forests on the globe, there is a creation of weather. Water vapor from the expiration and inspiration of the trees. We all know this, and learned this as children. But our technology has given us the chance to do something very rare in nature.

The life span of an ant is about 90 days. But ants don’t perceive these ninety days as how we perceive ninety days. Indeed the perception of time is a discussion that still baffles quantum physicists. Rather, appreciating the relativity in all of this harmony called nature is all you need. If you understand that an ant perceives 90 days as an entire lifetime, then all you have to do is scale yourself as the ant like existence you really are in relation to this planet and you realize that the Earth is also a living being. Living… on a different scale.

The discussion is not about whether CO2 is the culprit of climate change, or even if climate change even exists. The discussion is about you looking around and seeing how we have become a society that worships monetary satisfaction over science. We value entertainment and idolize celebrities. Once again I am left thinking is this all that humanity is good for?

I think we owe our home a lot more than outlet stores in the deserts, massive air conditioned structures to store excess stuff, and an unrelenting appetite for greed, destruction, mass consumption and lambastic entertainment.

Just think about it… she’s breathing.

I’ve written about the Homo Technologicus, my name for the next rendition of Homo Sapien. Indeed, this transition has been happening and is going to accelerate in the next few years. Think back to cell phones and how quickly they became the complex yet unobtrusive iPhone? The exponential progression of technology has a name, Moore’s Law defines the doubling of microprocessor capability every 18 months. So far we have stayed true to this curve and sometimes even expanded beyond it.

The question now looms… who will be chosen for the next stage of human evolution? In the past you didn’t have a choice. To pass on your genes you had to be fit for your environment. The selecting factors were impressed on the organism by nature. In the modern world however we control these factors (most of them at least).

So will you be able to afford the next evolutionary leap to Homo Technologicus? Are you going to be able to pay the price to evolve into Homo Sapien 2.0?

I never really thought I write this essay. But I think it’s necessary.

Look around you. We live in an unprecedented era. A time where our species has the ability to feed, cloth and shelter every one of its members, and live as the dominant species on the planet in peace.

Since the beginning of time, we have suffered. Life it is basically a process of suffering to weed out the ineffective versions of a species. We used to participate in that process. Not that long ago, we too played on the same field as other species on this planet, and participated in the daily competition to feed. We struggled make sure we could pass on progeny and to claim our piece of the experience called “Life” on a rock we all share… Earth.

But today, we live in a era where we are on the verge of resolving almost every problem that survival poses. Even the ones that haven’t been solved yet are no longer and issue since we have in place a system we call Science. This system studies and analyzes the nature and composure of the world around us, and makes logical conclusions. This allows our species to evolve with a steady forward moving pace. This is because science is based on loyalty to one universal imperative: logic. Sometime in the not too distant future, we will be able to describe and understand every natural phenomenon, every natural process.

The key word in the sentence above is ‘sometime’. Just as we had to understand the measurement of mass, the measurement of distance, mathematics and a whole bunch of other sciences to be able to send a 12 members of our species to our moon; we have to give time for our science to build on itself (with logic as it’s guide), to become masters of the understood universe. Imagine if our species continued to revere science since the time of the Greeks, and progressed to the next level of it’s evolution rather than destroy itself over imaginary stories of who’s God is better. Where we would be now? Would we have travelled the Solar System? Would we have understood how to preserve and create life? Would we have served our Creator better by having respected and revered It’s creation so much so, that we would step up to the noble task of serving as the custodians of Life?

This is unfortunate is not what we are choosing. In a a world where we can live without suffering, where we understand how to extract natural resources, where we can educate every person to the same level of knowledge, we choose to value gossip, entertainment, consumerism, and the abyss of ignorance (I just can’t bring myself to literally say it). We have made the choice that which “jeans are in season next fall”, or “who is going to be the next American Idol?” is more important than feeding every member of our species, and making sure that every generation is better equipped to understand science so that it may evolve and progress to a higher state and respect our universe and this miracle called Life.

Look around you, in every corner of the world, you see death, destruction, financial issues, corruption, and someone saying that they are different or special compared to another human being. We still haven’t evolved out of the level of animalism that doesn’t require the ego to be massaged with the expression of “dominance” to justify it’s importance? Doesn’t that make you sad? That without knowing it, we all participate in a game which is basically that we are all trying constantly to delineate our dominance over each other? We buy clothes that identify us as separate individuals and care that we define our “image” to make sure we are perceived as individuals. We use the material world that we have become masters at manipulating (i.e. Making clothing, machines that move us around, and buildings that condition our air, and boxes that preserve our food, and pills that kill infection, and on and on…) to prove that we are better than each other. How you dress, what you drive, where you live and how you eat. I am better than you. And he is better than me. Oh, and look, she is better than him. Our simple animal minds still can’t expel this primitive notion of exertion of dominance in order to pass on our genes.

I say we have that opportunity. But those who ask you to just believe, and not question… they are the ones who are stopping us from evolving. They are the ones who are asking of you to stop your rightful place amongst the stars, and become an inter-stellar species. One that serves to spread the gift that it’s Creator gave it… Life. The “faith-pushers” are the ones who ask you to remain ignorant of how it all works. That has been the battle since the beginning.

Whether history takes a turn to the right direction before it is too late for this species to shed this primitive and final step and evolve to the next level of “being” is yet to be decided.

The problem (I regret to inform you ) is that this decision, is actually in your hands.

You see. You, me and everyone around us, are members of the modern era of the story of Homo Sapien Sapien. Put your Bibles, Torahs, and Korans down and listen carefully. Every generation has had this chance. But obviously, none have heeded the task.

This generation can. Imagine if every one us tried to elevate each other. Imagine a world where we learned from our atrocious past and didn’t kill each other because of our ignorance of each other?

We live in this world this way, because we choose to. Thus our choices create the story. If you bought a piece of clothing, in a store in America; with your purchase, you voted that it is okay to have another human being paid the equivalent of 10 cents to work an entire day in a factory, so that you can conveniently “choose” your “style” without effort or suffering.

We enslave each other friends. We all do it, and we all silently agree that it is okay. It is as Jean-Jacques Rousseau named it, we live by “The Social Contract”.

As I said, I would like to bring to your attention that we are choosing to sign this contract. Thus our world today… our economies, our religious debates, our racist positions, and many of our other problems. That is because as science has shown us, taking the time to understand a problem with logical analysis only, we are rewarded with the ability to solve that problem. The fact that we still have these simple problems, and more, shows how we have turned back, and decided to look the other way from science, and cover our eyes with superstition and mystical ideas.

And so we head down the splendid path of “the species that could, but never did.” Everyone has heard of stories of the people of Atlantis, a long lost civilization what was supposedly much more advanced than we are? We hear stories of the end of the world, and 2012. We have become accustomed to the idea that the end is coming? Why is that? Why isn’t it possible for us to learn, and evolve. Use our science to figure out interplanetary travel, and spread life to the corners of our galaxy? We did this when we chose to leave our countries on a boat made of wood to discover what’s out there across the ocean. Why did we stop? Did we explore the entire planet so that once we occupied every corner of it, we could build as many Gaps, Star-Bucks and McDonald’s we could? I think not?

Something is stopping us. Our social contract is broken and needs to be replaced.

We’ve had 10,000 years of civilization to figure this out, and we still fight and bicker and conquer each other to prove our dominance. Don’t you feel it’s time we grew up?

Could it be possible that we wind up like the characters of the stories we hear like Atlantis? I mean even if the outlandish idea of Atlantis doesn’t resonate with you, history presents us with 6 different “Civilizations” (i.e. The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Persians, and Mongols) that ruled their worlds, and disappeared to prove that this model needs to change.

We are doing the same thing. Over and over.

I makes me sad when I meet people and I talk about these things, that they look at me with bewilderment and amazement at the same time, and ask… “Wow… it is nice to see people who think this way are out there”. I think to myself, it’s in every one of us. If we only took the time to come outside at night, and look up at the stars and wonder what goes on out there, we would contemplate these things. I’m not different than the others, I only choose to open my eyes and look.

Maybe if we all thought of our species, Life, and our planet with a different level of respect, there would be more people having this conversation and things would be different in our world right tomorrow.

Song: Die Zauberflöte, K. 620: “Ach, ich fühl’s”; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

When you wake up in the morning, most of you take a shower, and then stand in your closet and choose what to wear while you imagine in your head “who do I want to be today?” “Do I want to looked at like I’m conservative, sexy, progressive” and a whole slew of other images we make of ourselves. But we choose our costume and go into the world emulating what we all mindlessly watch and idolize with our actions… celebrity. Once again s5 is about to burst your bubble and reveal the absolute irrelevance of your Emmy party…

Twenty Five Million, Seven Hundred Thousand.

25,700,000.

I am not referring to a new stimulus package. This is actually the number of results on google when I entered a particular search item. (Interestingly, it is 6 million hits higher then when you google “Government Stimulus Package”).

3,000,000 unique hits per day on the top site brought up for the search term.

Over $1,500,000 in income for the person who runs that top site. Although, I have read somewhere else that the site may make up to $100,000 per week just in ad revenue.

The magazines of this same topic come out four times a month. The top four have an average distribution of 2,000,000 per issue. That is 32 million magazines per month, if not more, that are released.

I wonder if anyone has yet accurately guessed what I might be referring to?

I am speaking of celebrity gossip. Whether it be the latest out and about photos, wondering if they are “just like us”, what they really look like without make-up, or if a swx tape was stolen and released (which just happened to coincide with a movie opening)… apparently, we humans cannot get enough. Like everything else we consume, it is no different with our celebrity fixation, we want more, faster and better!

President Obama addressed students on their first day back at school. I read it online; I did not watch it. Something stood out to me. It was something that I don’t think our ancestors would have ever guessed we would have to struggle against when raising our kids:

I know that sometimes, you get the sense from TV that you can be rich and successful without any hard work — that your ticket to success is through rapping or basketball or being a reality TV star, when chances are, you’re not going to be any of those things.

In a previous article on this site, it was mentioned about what happened to the desire to accomplish things like going out into space. Well, sadly, I think our obsession with celebrity is the answer to that.

It really has become a disease on this society.

I live in Los Angeles, in a part of town where there are a lot of celebrities. By default this means, there are a lot of paparazzi. About a year or two back, I was working one day and we were all distracted by the amount of helicopters overhead. I walked outside, looked to where they might be and counted ten. It was close by and we were all concerned a bit about what emergency was happening; hoping everyone was alright, if it had been the result of an accident; worried for our own safety, if it were the result of something more serious, for example, criminal activity.

Well, I hate to inform you that Britney Spears was having lunch.

There was another time, again at work, when I looked out the window to see a swarm of men running from one end to the other of the complex’s central area. Twenty to thirty men were running in every direction. One or two even came up to my window, peering in, violating my privacy with no regard. Needless to say, my initial reaction, once again, was to be scared that something serious were going on; did I need to protect myself because these were unfamiliar men running amok in a business community.

Again, I was enraged when I found out the men were paparazzi, acting like vultures, because a young actor, that I still have no clue why he was such fodder to the masses, was nearby.

I can list many more accounts. And, I am sure many of you who live in a celebrity filled cities may have your own experiences.

The tracking of celebrity, their lifestyles, their ups and their downs has become at least a billion dollar industry. People, en masse, want to know what happened to Britney after she shaved her head, or if Lindsey Lohan goes to rehab again, or is Michael Jackson really dead and if so, was he murdered and who did it.

You often hear the excuse that the celebrities knew what they were getting into when they chose their career and that they have put their lives on a public platter for us to consume and critique. Many people think that celebrities are mentally unstable and got into their profession as a way to deal with their psychosis of an over-inflated ego. (In the essence of full disclosure, I feel it is important to let you know that for the briefest of time, I also wanted to be an actress. I encountered many people and for every one person who wanted to act with the best of intentions, there were four who just wanted the fame and glory and thought acting would be an easy route.) For 75% of the people out there that are famous, I disagree that they knew what they were getting into when they chose this as a career. In all honesty, I don’t know if we “choose” our careers, as much as they choose us.

But really my point to all of this is that I believe that the reason this industry exists is because of us. Like any industry, it succeeds because people purchase into it. We have an insatiable desire to read about the Lindsey’s, Paris’, Nicole’s and Justin’s. And because of that desire, photographers go out and stalk these people, night and day, to get “the” shot that will help their magazine’s circulation over another.

The real question becomes what is it about our psychology that makes us care and value a celebrity’s life more than our own?

I would argue that it is for two reasons. The first, comes from the wisdom of the late Kurt Vonnegut. He once explained to a group of people his theory for why people need drama. Simply, from almost the moment we are born, we are told fantastical tales. All of these stories have extreme ups and downs. Whether it is the story of Cinderella or a simple tale of a city that recovers after an foreseen tragedy. We are told time and time again that our lives must have highs and lows, loves and hates, joys and sorrows; dramaturgy. But, in reality, most people live a very static existence, so we seek out drama and high arcs in life. This is why we create fights, watch sports, and seek out celebrity gossip.

The second reason, as I see it, is because of what has become of the culture of America. The last generation of great men and women have often been described as those who fought in World War II and created the American ideal. This generation included my grandparents. I believe that this is also the last generation that were not victims. Our country has created an atmosphere and psychology where everyone seems wronged by life. They didn’t get the job they wanted for x, y and z reason, none of which has the person taking accountability. They are overweight because McDonald’s slowly increased the size of a small coke without telling them or because they were teased in school by their peers. We have become sue happy because everything that has happened to us is everyone else’s fault.

As a result, we have generations of individuals that feel marginalized looking for ways to feel significant. How best to do that then make sure that those we are supposed to admire fall to a slow death off of their pedestals. That is why after we spend millions of our dollars ensuring that someone gets to fame, we just as quickly pay millions of dollars for the picture of their fall from grace.

All of this is to say that it is not the editors or the photographers or the celebrities themselves that are to blame for this phenomena of the X17’s or the Perez Hilton’s or the TMZ’s. It is our psychology that has created this. Just like we have created a food industry that feeds us to sickness and a financial industry that leaches money away from us in the form of ARM loans and credit cards. We have created a society where we have industries that feed our desires for the highs and lows, to feel empowered and to feel victimized.

We have no one… NO ONE… but ourselves to blame.

I just came back from a trip to some cities in the south and midwest, and although I am tired, I couldn’t sleep. So here I am.

Since Friday, I have spent a condensed amount of time around a huge cross section of people. I spent 2 days in 4 airports. I got a concentrated jolt of the modern American… and let me tell you, I have a lot to report. But in due time. This will be a blitz-week for you. I gonna hit you with a marathon of articles (Celebrity Idolatry, Grotesque Belligerence and Dancing Monkeys). Besides gushing with things to write about and open your eyes with, I am proud to say that The Ultimate Spaceship is now a party of 3.

I have already introduced you to S5. S5 writes about things that I don’t see. Another illuminator among the rapidly growing sleepers who populate the majority of the world. But tonight I would like to introduce Jivana. Jivana will bring a new perspective to the Spaceship as well. Only together can we all wake up to the reality of the game we are playing. Those who see through it already are only spectators until everyone else wakes up as well.

I conversed with over a dozen people this weekend. Each one from a different part of the country. Some from different parts of the world. Every person was modern, and what appeared to be a fully functioning member of society. But as you dig deeper, you are struck with a hollow shell. Where I expected to find an advanced member of a modern society that supposedly educates it’s young, I found shallow one dimensional media drones. People who can only converse about characters on television, or sports teams… well all but two people. But I’ll talk about them later this week.

So the sad part is that philosophy, is not a part of our human culture anymore. It’s been replaced with a new belligerent “me” centric jungle that we call a society. Philo-sophia, translated into it’s Greek roots, philosophy directly means “the love of wisdom”. It can also be understood as “the love of truth” if you translate it’s synonym philathelia.

I found much irony that one of the people who had a glazed look on his face after 3 sentences of conversation was actually Greek. The young man had only resided in the United States for 3 years and was still very Greek. Ironically, after just a little discussion about how his ancestors created this structured analysis and study that pursued the answers to existence, I saw our Greek friend fade, and lose interest.

I’m not sure why I see it all this way? But I’m glad I’m not alone. I met 2 incredibly aware people on my journeys, and we kept getting back to education. How education has failed us and our species. I was fortunate. I had teachers who cared. People like Dr. Daruty who saw future thinkers and fostered their growth, rather than come to work the average apathetic teacher, only trying to get students to pass the next exam and move up the career ladder.

So if you’re out there, and think like the rest of us… you can participate in the awakening. Consider this your home. Contact me and I will post your thoughts.

Welcome aboard The Ultimate Spaceship Jivana:

“You need to write” Old Law told me, so I can remember he said . What it is that he wants me to discover through this process, I am not exactly sure of yet. Most certainly it is something or he would not have put me up to it.

I can “remember” things. I see people, and scenes, at times vividly yet it seems like a dream. The only thing I feel conscious of is now. Even words feel strange. I must know them or I could not use them but somehow they seem contrived or foreign and I am surprised (with some amount of delight I might add) that they come out at all.

I am unsure of even what to write. So I will just explain what just happened to me:

I had a moment where I was reflecting and I became aware, I suppose, of the creation of time. That’s the best way I can describe it … the realization of time … I had to slow down “now” to create what I was seeing -that place of consciousness was split and separate from the space I came back to once finished with my thought. I had to create time to see those thoughts. Those “memories”, I am told are real. I know somehow that they “did” happen and yet I cannot get over the fact that I had to imagine them right now -that was not real, it was not now. For all I know, they are as real as the future. I am unsure of the implications of this self-discovery but it seems worthy of investigation.

Jivana

Are we doing what the angels that live within us did?

Spirit occupies the bodies and experiences the 3rd dimension through our senses. Are we mimicking this with our insatiable appetite for more accurate facsimiles of reality? Imagine an image so real, that you see it in full 3 dimensional quality, and it has depth because you have gloves on that give you feedback for touch. Other senses like sound, smell and all the gravity being stimulated the way your vision is.

How would you know what is real? After all, you experience you because of your senses. You feel the chair underneath you, which gives you a sense of what is up. You smell the air, and hear the sounds of the space you are in. These add to your experience of dimension. You see with your eyes taking in light. Not ALL light however…only a sampling of the spectrum the universe offers. You cannot hear every sound-wave either, only a sampling. Dimension? You are limited to only 4.

What you are left to compile of all this, is what you consider to be real, but it’s only a sampling.

Just like the creation of modern man: the television, the creation of angels: homo sapien, has a limited definition of what it can present to it’s viewer as real. No matter how high the resolution of the imageboxes (TVs) that you will see developed by our entertainment obsessed world of technology in the next 50 years… it will not be reality. So then it is fair to argue that the 3 dimensional world that your bodies experience, is actually virtual; since the flawed machine you occupy (the human body), can only perceive samplings of reality, which are infinitesimal in comparison full spectrums of the spirit world.

The truth stands regardless of thoughts.

“and when I look closer, I realize these aren’t walls,

but shafts of light

they are bending

to the touch, of our skin

…hidden in plain sight.”

Wake Up.

I dedicate this article to those of you who thought I was a liberal treehugging douche bag.

You see. Anybody out there who can’t think on their own, and make conclusions about issues with their own brain analysis, is the douche bag. In this modern era, we are being duped into having everyone think for us.

The food industry, thinks for you. Your government, or political party, thinks for you. Everywhere you turn people are following suit. But I always strive to bring you truth.

This is an example. Although I do not subscribe to the religious undertone of this video. The bottom line is she is right. Absolutely, 100% correct.

What I call: Child Abuse.

Our society is falling apart. Everywhere you go, Homo Sapien is getting lazier, stupider, and more dependent on government to take care of them. Health care is JUST that debate. I am a medical professional, and I am tired of hearing about how the President’s health care plan will make America a better place? How you deserve health care? And how we should all foot the bill for everyone else’s health care?

So I ask you… on what basis should you believe this? From a government that allows for the sale of food products that make you sick, fat and diabetic? A government that actually uses YOUR tax dollars, to fund a corn bill, which in turn creates a commodity that is used to create toxic food additives like HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), and turns a blind eye to the sicknesses it causes, is going to fund the health that you NEED, from the tax dollars YOU are giving them that fund the thing that make YOU sick? Are you kidding me? Am I the only one that gets this?

I don't know about OTHER docs, but my practice is already organized.

I think the O in Obama’s health care plan logo doesn’t stand for Obama, it stands for Ouroboros. I mean don’t get me wrong. I like our President… normally, Im rooting for him! We need intelligent leaders who are open to dialogue, not gun slinging cowboy politics like our last administration. But on this I cannot agree

All over there are ramblings of the great Obama health plan! The savior is here to give us all a healthy future… and ignorant Americans are lapping it up! Yes, give us health Mr. President.. ask the people of this great country, never taking responsibility for their own choices, and their own ignorance about the toxicity of the environment that THEY are creating.

Every time they purchase beef, they are voting that it is OK to pump their food full of antibiotics and feed cows CORN instead of grass.

Every time they purchase Coke or Pepsi, they are voting that it is OK to take our tax dollars, and indirectly subsidize billion dollars companies like Cargill, Monsanto, and ADM to create food products that sicken Americans, and still allow them to put their products on the market for consumption.

Cargill train delivering "Corn Sweetners"

Come on people, last I checked, governments were created to GOVERN. To make sure “the bad guys” didn’t take over. They were there to make sure that tyranny and the raping of the public didn’t overrule the rights to liberty and freedom.

It’s fair to say all this and acknowledge that we can’t completely blame our President for inheriting the subsidy of corn and health care. This is the process that large corporations have created well before our current President was elected. Rather, the President has a decision to make, either he will be the next supermodel promoting large corporate interests, OR he will be a President of the people, by the people and for the people.

So then how would you rate a government that allows companies that make products that are known to make you sick, continue to sell these for consumption? And even to go as far as use your tax dollars to subsidize them?

I say failure.

A typical rebuttal is “well then don’t consume these products”. I agree… but that is not the point I am making here.

Most people are choosing to stay ignorant of the facts. They don’t want to learn, and act on what they’ve learned. So they blame the government. Which is ironic, since that very government they are blaming, is the one keeping them ignorant. By adopting policy that will perpetuate the ignorance, they create “blame mentality” which allows the government to continue legislating policies that further indoctrinate the people into a system of dependancy and thus ignorance.

Now, don’t for one minute think that I think that we shouldn’t have a system of providing health care for anyone who gets sick or traumatically ill. Every advanced civilization has safety nets for it’s members. This so called “health care” plan is more than that. This is legislating policies to provide care for irresponsibility.

I look around and all I see are people getting heavier, food getting worse, and information getting more skewed. Television is a side show instead of a powerful medium used to inform and educate the public. Music is become commercial crap serving only a platform to propagate sex, fashion, the endless pursuit of material possessions.

Future rocket scientist

People aren’t interested truth anymore. The truth is that American kids are getting more and more stupid (and fat). A few months ago there was a powerful article in the Economist that discussed the lazy American educational system and how our kids spend 80% of the time other kids in the world do in the classroom because of outdated legislation and the suffocation of educational advancement by the unions. Even the Economist has resorted to writing about the “dumb American kid”.

Why? This country is one of the greatest experiments in Human history! Ever!

Look back at history… NEVER has there been a document as great as the United States Constitution. A forward thinking ideology that knew a large government would only serve it’s own purposes. So they created the balance of power.

And now, almost 3 centuries later, we’re at it again. Making everything bigger, so “daddy” can take care of us. Who cares if we love Snickers, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola. daddy can fix it, and we’ll ALL share the costs!

As an educated, proud and VERY patriotic American, I say phooey Mr. President (with the highest respect for the first in command, yet exercising my First Amendment rights).

This country was founded on principles that created a society that took Homo Sapien to the Moon. Just two generations ago, young men and women worked hard to study and become something more than a rapper or an actor. They strived to become engineers, teachers, doctors, and scientists. Our country was the resource for technology and advancement. Now we import that. The top students, in the top scientific, engineering and mathematics programs in this country are “imports” from other countries.

I have a patient who worked on the team that developed the Saturn V rocket. An amazing feat of Human engineering indeed. This rocket created 1.5 MILLION pounds of thrust! Homo Sapiens created a machine that created enough thrust to propel a 6.5 MILLION POUND rocket into space! How many kids are interested in this kind of mathematics today? How many kids can do that kind of math today? Why not? Aren’t we supposed to get smarter with every generation? And get this… the men that created this rocket… they engineered this thing by doing math without the powerful computers we have today!

I find it ironic that despite our powerful computing abilities today, we were unable to predict the economic catastrophe that we have gotten ourselves into (only because of our unchecked greed)… but I digress. The point is that we have stunted our scientific pursuits for those of consumption and sex. Babylon the Great has resurfaced.

In 1967, mankind left a mark in the entire history of life, but sending the largest object to-date, into space. We did that because 3 generations ago, we valued education. We valued personal responsibility. Our society has systematically deconstructed those tenets. We are relying more and more on our system to take care of us. Forget about making sure our kids eat well, let the schools feed them. Forget about voting by NOT BUYING an item, if it’s on the shelf, the “system” must have checked that it’s okay!

So the teeter keeps tottering towards the infinite bliss of human ignorance. Here we have two classes. The leaders, and the serfs. In this model however, the serfs will never revolt like the old models. That’s because in this model you give them everything they desire. All you have to do is keep them desiring.

The health care bill is just another cog in the wheel keeping you dependent on your government. Stop eating food that makes you sick and living a life that keeps you overweight, depressed and ill, and you won’t need this plan. If we want better health care in this country, all our government has to do is GOVERN, and stop making policies that are funded by the private insurance companies. As for the public, stop being ignorant and wake up. Start taking responsibility for your decisions and educate your self. Stop buying things that don’t consider the well being of your kids, your future and your health a top priority.

It rotates. It has blinking lights, a disco ball, and a pole. And it's probably one of the wrongest toys you can give to any girl. Because, unlike the USB Pole Dancer, this one is actually for kids.

Besides, don’t you think the issue of health care in America is dwarfed by the issue of the massive growth of the unstoppable giant of social decay?

This isn’t a political issue anymore folks. It isn’t even a national issue. It’s a Human issue. As America, out ONLY export is entertainment. And guess what, we export our culture through our entertainment. So now the rest of the world is being infected with our culture of greed, and ignorance.

I leave you with a thought… do you think the world can support the lifestyle of 6 Billion Americans?

Song: The Long Way Home by Lindstrøm

Look around you. We live in an unprecedented era. A time where our species has the ability to feed, cloth and shelter every one of its members, and live as the dominant species on the planet in peace.

Since the beginning of time, we have suffered. Life it is basically a process of suffering to weed out the ineffective versions of a species. We used to participate in that process. Not that long ago, we too played on the same field as other species on this planet, and competed to feed, to pass on progeny and to claim stake to a piece of the experience of life on this rock we all share… Earth.

But today, we live in a era where we are on the verge of resolving almost every problem that survival could deal us. Even the ones that haven’t been solved yet are no longer and issue since we have in place a system we call Science which studies and analyzes the nature and composure of the very world around us. This allows us to rely on a steady pace forward because with loyalty to the universal imperative of logic, we will eventually understand every natural phenomenon, every natural process.

The key word in the sentence above is eventually. Just as we had to understand the measurement of mass, the measurement of distance, mathematics and a whole bunch of other sciences to be able to send a member of our species to our moon; we have to give time for our science to build on itself with logic as it’s guide, to become masters of the understood universe. Imagine a species that continued to revere science to progress and instead of destroying itself over imaginary stories of who’s God is better. Imagine where we would be now? Would we have travelled the Solar System? Would we have understood how to preserve and create life? Would we have served our Creator better by having respected and revered It’s creation so much so, that we would not allow our childish egos get in the way of fulfilling our role as custodians of Life?

This is exactly what we have become. In a a world where we can live without suffering, where we understand how to extract natural resources, where we can educate every person to the same level of knowledge, we choose to value gossip, entertainment, consumerism, and the abyss of ignorance (I just can’t bring myself to literally say it). We have made the choice that “which top is in season next fall”, or “who is going to be the next American Idol?” is more important than feeding every member of our species, and making sure that every generation is better equipped at understanding science so that it may evolve and progress to a higher state of respect for our universe and this miracle called Life.

Test explosion of the TSAR1 Russian Hydrogen Bomb. What you see is the initial explosion which at it's core behaves like and is the temperature of a little star.

But those who ask you to just believe, and not question. They are the ones who are stopping us. They are the ones who are asking of you to stop your rightful place amongst the stars, and become a stellar species. One that serves to spread the gift that it’s Creator gave it… Life. The “faith-pushers” are the ones who as you to remain ignorant of how it all works. That has been the battle since the beginning.

Whether history takes a turn to the right direction before it is too late for this species to surpass this primitive and final step to the next level of “being” is to be decided.

The problem is that I regret to inform you, but that decision is actually in your hands.

Religion Gone Bad...

You see. You, me and everyone around us, is a member of this modern era of the story of Homo Sapien Sapien. Put your Bibles, Torahs, and Korans down and listen carefully. Every generation has had this chance. But obviously, none have heeded to the task. This generation can. Imagine if every one us tried to elevate each other. Imagine a world where we learned from our atrocious past and didn’t kill each other over ignorance of each other?

We live in this world this way, because we choose to. Thus our choices create the story. If you bought piece of clothing in a store in America, you have voted and stated that it is okay to have another human being paid the equivalent of 10 cents to work a whole day in a factory so that you can conveniently “choose” your “style” without effort or suffering.

The Social Contract

We enslave each other friends. We all do it, and we all silently agree that it is okay. It is as Jean-Jacques Rousseau stated, “The Social Contract”.

As I said, I would like to make it to your attention that we, are choosing to sign this contract. Thus our world today. Our economies, our religious debates, our racist positions, and every one of our problems. That is because as science has done up to now, if we take the time to understand something with the humility of respecting that fact with logical analysis only, we are rewarded with the ability to solve that problem. The fact that we still have these simple problems, and more, shows how we have turned back, and decided to look the other way from science.
So we head down the splendid path of the species that could, but never did. Everyone has head of stories of the theoretical people of Atlantis, a long lost civilization what was far more advanced than we are? We all live with theories of the end of the world, and 2012. We have been accustomed to the idea that the end is coming? Why is that? Why isn’t it possible for us to learn, and evolve. Use our science to figure out interplanetary travel, and spreading life to the corners of our galaxy? We did this when we chose to leave our countries on a boat made of wood to discover what’s out there across the ocean. Why did we stop? So once we explored and occupied every corner of the planet, we could build as many Gaps, Star-Bucks and McDonald’s we could on it? I think not? Something is stopping us. Our social contract is broken and needs to be replaced.

We’ve had 10,000 years of civilization to figure this out, and we still fight and bicker and conquer each other to prove our dominance. Don’t you feel it’s time we grew up?

Could it be possible that we wind up like the characters of the stories we hear about Atlantis? I mean even if the outlandish idea of Atlantis doesn’t resonate with you, you have 6 sets of rule of most of the planet by different “Mini-Civilizations” (i.e. The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Persians, and Mongols) to prove that this needs to change.

We are doing the same thing people. Over and over.

I makes me sad when I meet people and I talk about these things, that they look at me with bewilderment and amazement at the same time, and ask… “Wow… it is nice to see people who think this way are out there”. I wonder, it’s in every one of us. If we only took the time to come outside at night, and look up at the stars and wonder what goes on out there, we would contemplate these things. I’m not different than the others, I only choose to open my eyes now, and learn.

Maybe if we all thought of our species, Life, and our planet with a different level of respect, there would be more people having this conversation and things would be different on our planet right now.

Night shows the truth. Look up. What you see is reality. During the “illusion” of the day, the light from the sun takes away your ability to see the reality of what exists outside our world. Night is a gift. When you turn off the light bulb of our solar system, you get to see what it looks like out there. How of us get how important that is?
