Wisdom & Knowledge of the Elders
As I grow older, one of the wonderful things about this experience is the appreciation of the words and the stories of our elders. When I was younger, I, like others would say “they don’t understand what it’s like to to be young in this society”. But now, after growing an learning, I have learned that there some ideals that have been passed on and withstood the test of time, regardless of the conditions.
A quote I came across recently, was made in reference to the economic growth in a middle eastern country and how it has effected the cultural values of those people. I wanted to share it with you all because I feel it has merit in our world, and our individual lives as well.
“We did not listen to our ancestors’ proverb,” Mr. Kaya said. “ ‘Stretch your leg only as far as your blanket.’ ”
**About the Photo:
A beautiful view indeed. A fresh view of deforestation in Brazil. We are so responsible that we make sure to leave some trees to make sure the ecosystem can survive. (I hope by now you can pick up on my sarcasm)
