TV has become a defense mechanism where people escape their responsibilities and feelings of emptiness and find that other people’s pretend lives are far more interesting than embracing their own creative ideas and experiences themselves. I do not own a TV and rarely ever watch it; however, I am not entirely opposed to owning one. I feel that there can be a way to monitor what the viewing device is used for. What if the television at your own conviction was solely used for educational viewing purposes and without commercials? I understand that the average human on earth views brainless television for other reasons and probably would not be able to have the convictions, discipline, or even understanding to not use it for other reasons than brainless activity. On another note, Valentine’s Day is a pressured obligation in our society where a feeling of love is used to manipulate people to want to spend money. That is why I celebrate Anti-Valentine’s Day.
