I’ve written about the Homo Technologicus, my name for the next rendition of Homo Sapien.  Indeed, this transition has been happening and is going to accelerate in the next few years.  Think back to cell phones and how quickly they became the complex yet unobtrusive iPhone?  The exponential progression of technology has a name, Moore’s Law defines the doubling of microprocessor capability every 18 months.  So far we have stayed true to this curve and sometimes even expanded beyond it.

The question now looms… who will be chosen for the next stage of human evolution?  In the past you didn’t have a choice.  To pass on your genes you had to be fit for your environment.  The selecting factors were impressed on the organism by nature.  In the modern world however we control these factors (most of them at least).

So will you be able to afford the next evolutionary leap to Homo Technologicus?  Are you going to be able to pay the price to evolve into Homo Sapien 2.0?
