Many children lack the motivation to want to learn. There is not enough animation coming out of books to hold their very short attention spans. Their imaginations are weakened by images that have been created and produced from someone else’s imagination for them. The majorities of children who grow up in lower income areas sadly usually live out their family legacies and do not aspire to have the mental capacity to think outside of their bubbles. Many children within this generation do not see that life is ephemeral or do not have any value for life; therefore, they do not understand that there is a much larger world and universe out there aside from their neighborhoods and schools. This seems to cause them to lack a sense of urgency in wanting to learn and expand their minds. It is unfortunate that because they lack an interest in education and understanding they tend to resort to criminal activity which in turn puts them in a vicious cycle within our legal system. With technology, education is everywhere at your fingertips. The issue is the fact that this generation of kids need to have some type of epiphany or to become inspired in some way to want to learn. It has become a vicious cycle that I hope one day our country can overcome. Thanks for posting this.
